There is no misfortune involved. We were naive and lazy and consumed with deviant ideas for the past couple of centuries, and so we are reaping what we have sown.

There should be no room for self-pity in any religion, least of all Islam.
Sure there are others who don't believe or who are only interested in worldy material gains, we are warned of this way.

For me the Quran teaches that strength comes from Allah, through His love and His mercy. It is His love and His mercy which will change the world, not the vain short sighted action of violence and greed committed by any person under which ever flag, religion or nationality.

Yes but my point was merely that Islam is not a specific country. The vast majority of Muslim land has no oil whatsoever. And the way the Muslim lands have been divided, it's a few small countries that have most of it. So oil does not affect most Muslims anyway. Indonesia for instance has the highest Muslim population, and the Indian sub-continent is where most Muslims live. Certainly not overly oil rich places.

I'm sure everyone is thankful for your sympathetic ear, we just don't want to fall into the same old cycle of self-pity, so we have come to the realisation that we must work to change our situation, instead of just blaming others for it.
