You might could look at it that way, but I prefer to think of it as God won't break his word. Which gives assurance of things to come.So God's will is bound by a book's word? Wouldn't that make the book itself more powerful than god himself if it can dictate to him what he can and cannot, will and will not, do?
Or another way, is that the words in the bible are part of God, and much like my left leg, I wouldn't do anything to compromise my left leg, because it is part of me, God won't do anything to compromise things that are a part of him.
Isn't that possible to view it that way?
