How do you come to that conclusion, and are you speaking etymologically or by implication? The English word for religion does not mean commitment and an obligation to a master (re-ligo; "I unite again" or "I reconnect".Religion by definition means commitment and an obligation to a master.
If you are going by implication, it's still not correct. Not all religions have commitment surrender to a master as ideas in their faith.
