Wow, Falvlun, that's too bad. I'd just glad you weren't badly hurt. I'm assuming this is going to teach you to WEAR A HELMET!

Wear your *** **** helmet! Seriously!
Consider it a lesson learned. I was lucky this time; I can't expect the gods to be so lenient next time around. :)

can literally say I feel your pain, Falvlun. Same exact thing happened to me about 15 years ago. Had to have my right ankle reconstructed. Still have 4 big screws and a plate in there.

*(and I did hit my head btw. :p)
*wait, did I just hear half the forum say "Ah! So that explains it"?

You'll be OK, man. Just think about how strong your arms are going to be once the cast comes off (from using the crutches).

Also: shop around a bit (or a lot) for a decent personal injury lawyer. I did and the extra effort really paid off.
Hehehe. That certainly does explain some things. I'm sorry that you had to go through this too; it royally sucks.

If you don't mind my asking, how well do you get around now? Do you still have a lot of pain associated with your injured ankle? That's what I'm most worried about: long-term difficulties.

I need to find out the legalities of the accident still; I'm not sure who, if anyone, was at fault. Plus, I'd feel bad about going after the kid.

Did the driver even cared to assist you to the nearest hospital? He should have...

Well, I hope you'll be better soon^^
Hey, Avatar buddy! Yes, the driver stopped. He was pretty shaken up himself. There were a ton of people that came out of nowhere to help me out. One guy, who lived on that corner, offered to store my bike until I could pick it up, and a wonderful nurse that was there drove me to the hospital so I wouldn't have to pay the ambulance fees.

No problems at all, Falvlun. The only time it bugs me at all is when I bang the plate against something or, every now and then, when the weather takes a sudden cold/wet shift, but that's due to the fact that the metal and bone don't contract at the same rate. Even then it isn't a big deal

Nope. I had infrequent problems with my Achilles tendon every now and then for the first 2 or 3 years, but that went away on it's own.

You'd be going after his insurance company. :D

Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid.
There...now that this is out of my system, it's stupid to not wear a helmet when biking. A brain bucket pulled my bucuits
out of the fire when a drunk ran me down on my bike. (He told the cops he was trying to break my neck.) Yeah, they're
hot, bulky, & not cool. But neither is it cool to lie in a hospital bed comatose or drooling the rest of your life. Tis good
that you'll live to correct that mistake.

Hey there Momo:D Good thing that there are still some good people who's willing to help... Anyway, is the damage on your heel bone that severe?
