Here are some examples of humans climbing trees without gear. So with the right technique etc. They can get food, but I don't think it would be our main choice for getting around.

Whenever I have to walk somewhere, feet do come in handy.

I have always been somewhat astounded by the fact that among the 8 billion humans on this planet; i.e., 16 billion feet, they are all so remarkably similar, even as they are at the same time really quite complex. That's a truly amazing degree of reproductive proficiency! It's stunning to me!
No human could build a mechanism that could reproduce that degree of complexity with that degree of uniformity, and see it work 16 billion times with almost no errors.
