What should i do??

It seems this flu has gotten worse. It started out with light symptoms last Thursday: blowing my nose frequently and sneezing. Then Monday and Tuesday i was extremely wore out and didn’t get anything done around the house; dishes laundry etc - Now today? I was in bed the entire day and I’m still tempted to go lay down again!

I just ate some mixed fruit and unfortunately I don’t have anything else except water to aid me through this. Tomorrow i may be able to call the grocery store for delivery, I was too late today. I really want some OJ and bananas and strawberries.

Go to bed with a bottle of scotch and a hot woman,

And get well soon.

Do you have any green or herbal tea? Catnip ir chamomile tea is helpful for calming fevers. If so drink plenty of tea and lots of water. You may want to take a couple ibuprofen just to reduce your fever for now. I would also be taking lots of vitamin C.

Take some tylenol, get lots of rest, drink plenty of fluids, and keep an eye on the temp. If it gets much higher (above 103 F) you may need to seek medical attention.
And take a covid test.

Paracetamol or ibuprofen to bring the fever down, orange juice and tea for hydration and vitamins, and eat a little if you feel able to - you probably won't want much. Fruit is good, to keep your gut moving a bit while you are laid up in bed. At 102 you need to be in bed or on the sofa. Don't push yourself to do things or it will go on for longer. Give yourself downtime, turn off all the switches on your control panel other than basic life support - and sleep. Check your temperature twice a day- should be higher in the early evening and lower in the morning. (If you get to 104 seek medical help - but very unlikely)

I had to look up Paracetamol. That is the same medication that is found in Tylenol here. If you have an aspirin allergy do not take ibuprofen.

@The Sum of Awe can you call someone and have them make a store run for you.

If not, how about using something like Door dash?

Fruit is a good way to go: anytime I get sick I'll eat nothing but citrus for a couple of days.
I usually get well a lot faster than everyone around me who has the same bug.

Hope you're feeling better soon, Sum.

Edit: I wouldn't fret too much about having to live on nothing but water for the rest of the day, it may actually help you feel better to go without food for a bit.

Although I know orange juice would get rid of that yucky taste in your mouth.

Chicken soup might help. It usually helps for me.

I find a cool, wet cloth on my forehead really helps me when I have a fever. I am sorry you feel badly and hope you feel better soon. :)

Given that Covid is still having around it could be that. People seem to react to it differently, im pretty sure I have had Covid several times, but nothing that made me feel especially sick, except extremely tired and worn out much like you describe. But if it doesn't get better I would call your doctor and ask what it could be, maybe get hold of a verified Covid test. Also try to check if there is a flu going around etc.

102 is surely a fever, but the medical profession recommends calling for medical help at 103. The best advice is to keep hydrated and use a little aspirin or acetaminophen to lower your temperature. But keep taking your temperature, and if it continues to go up (to 103 or more) seek medical help.

I always give the generic names, as generic medicines are normally less than half the price of branded versions, and it's exactly the same stuff.

Useful to have both ibuprofen and paracetamol around, as you if you reach the dose limit on one you can take the other on top if you really need to. We found this out when our son was small and used to get alarmingly high fevers > 105F. (Taking too much paracetamol is very dangerous.)

That is true for almost any medicine. Something that is effective will have negative results if one takes too much of it (except homeopathic medicine, I wonder why:rolleyes:). For me one dose of ibuprofen means that I am going to need my inhaler tells me to find something else. Acetaminophen does not have that effect on me.
