an idol is .....a graven image....last I heard

the above text speaks of a Being not of substance, but does have an "image"
I do not see an above text. You aren't going to play Pharisee with me. Are you?
Something that is produced and worshiped is an idol. It can be flesh. I am sure.
But if they are right and Jesus has a standard form then it would be HE who is promoting idolatry.

Here you go....

What do you think?

In the Clementine Homilies, the Apostle Peter describes God's physical appearance thus:

For He has shape, and He has every limb primarily and solely for beauty's sake, and not for use. For He has not eyes that He may see with them; for He sees on every side, since He is incomparably more brilliant in His body than the visual spirit which is in us, and He is more splendid than everything, so that in comparison with Him the light of the sun may be reckoned as darkness. Nor has He ears that He may hear; for He hears, perceives, moves, energizes, acts on every side. But He has the most beautiful shape on account of man, that the pure in heart, may be able to see Him, that they may rejoice because they suffered. For He moulded man in His own shape as in the greatest seal, in order that he may be the ruler and lord of all, and that all may be subject to him.

And, do you BELIEVE that? All this time God and the angels might have made themselves known but it won't be until it is too late for most people. Why do you think that is?

It has nothing to do with what I believe. God clearly says that is whats going to happen

Jesus himself said only a few people are going to be saved.

God hasn't made himself known? Jesus said "He who has seen me has seen the Father"

That is your interpretation. Nothing in the Bible is CLEAR! Come on!

A few people will follow him wherever he goes. Being saved is different. MOST people will be saved. How can you say you believe one scripture but utterly fail another one? It is GOD'S WILL that all be saved and to knowledge come. You are saying God fails. God does not fail.

People who want to reject the truth say its unclear

Your calling Jesus a liar. When he was asked if only a few would be saved his answer was yes period

Your making up your own Jesus and perverting the truth

well....Psalms was written before the Carpenter walked....
and I always did wonder why He called Himself the Son of Man......
Look at the way he talked. He said little when he was here that a person can believe in to understand. I think what he said leads to understanding. But now he is not a man. He is God.

The truth? Which one?

WHO did Jesus come to save? Answer the question correctly. If you can't then I think you should do this. Matthew 7:5

He is an idol.

if you have arms....that are not used as arms.....

the rest describes an Entity not of flesh.

no wine at the Table

Not of flesh, but looks like flesh: an idol.

After this little dialogue, I'm even more confused. And now I don't even know if the two of you agree with each other or not.

I can't be sure if I agree with him because he speaks Jesus, like Jesus spoke. But if he thinks the way I think he thinks he is one on the forum who I am more familiar with. You, Katzper, are one of the ones I am least familiar with. You definitely think in physical terms. I am like @Thief who I think thinks spiritually. I might be wrong. The people who do not believe they are the truth are the people I most identify with. @Revoltingest comes to mind.

Really? I didn't realize that.

I like to think I am able to think both ways, as both ways have value.

The people who do not believe they are the truth are the people I most identify with. @Revoltingest comes to mind.
It sounds like you're saying you don't identify with people who have strong convictions. Is that right? I tend to identify with people who do have strong convictions, but who are able to admit that they don't know everything. More accurately stated, I'd have to say that I identify with people who are able to say, "I believe," but who tend to shy away from saying, "I know."

I think you did if you ever read my post about Mitt Romney

Yes, I know that about you but you are dedicated to the physical way because your God is physical.

It sounds like you're saying you don't identify with people who have strong convictions. Is that right?
No, I don't identify with people whose convictions are set in stone.
I tend to identify with people who do have strong convictions, but who are able to admit that they don't know everything.
Not always, because that would be me and you seem to not be able to identify with me. I might be wrong.
More accurately stated, I'd have to say that I identify with people who are able to say, "I believe," but who tend to shy away from saying, "I know."
That is definitely me.

I probably didn't read it. At least I don't remember having done so. I'm not a big Mitt Romney fan so I could have easily missed it.

I guess I don't understand what you're saying. What do you mean by, "You are dedicated to the physical way"?

I'm never quite sure where I stand with you, that's for sure. Sometimes I think we're friends, and see things a lot alike. Then, at other times, you say things that make me feel really bad.

That is definitely me.
Well, it's definitely me, too. As a matter of fact, I almost always preface my statements with, "I believe..." or "In my opinion..." or "It seems to me..." or "As I understand it..." I almost never just say, "This is how it is. Period." If I've come across as super dogmatic, I'm really sorry, because it hasn't been intentional.

Seek Jehovah, seek meekness, seek righteousness. Is Jehovah physical, according to you? I have heard you say that GOD dwells in a body that looks like a man's body. I could not come to believe that under extreme torture, I think. That is what I said about Mitt. I can't vote for someone who believes that is the truth. I think that The Creator is willing us all to know the truth. That isn't happening. Is it? Are there more than one truths about something? The LDS say God speaks to them, but the JWs say God is for them. I'll tell you the truth. I would rather go with those who say they actually hear from God. The JWs do not say that. They say God is leading them to figure it out like God can't talk.

I'm never quite sure where I stand with you, that's for sure. Sometimes I think we're friends, and see things a lot alike. Then, at other times, you say things that make me feel really bad.
We could be friends in real life. I think you are wonderful.

No, I have never seen you come across as any dogmatic. Do you know there is one on the forum who loves you but hates almost everyone?

I have strong convictions about many things.
But they just aren't "true".
Nor does this prevent me from ranting, raving & pontificating.
