Well I can only give you an advice as a Jewish man, quite a few American Jews have adopted Buddhism and have become successful leaders in the American Buddhist administration. however, from the experience of many of us, Jewish tradition is not meant to be mixed with eastern philosophies, Judaism is the practical, we do not seek enlightenment, Jewish heritage, in its oldest form is about a priesthood class or religious authority as it were, soldiers and military, and politicians, and today obviously a well established scientific and medical community, philosophies from the far east will only make it nearly impossible for you to stick to the Jewish tradition you want to preserve. I would advice you however, as you are a resident of the UK, to keep update with the Muslims in your society, because despite our differences with them, what they practice is closest to our tradition.To be a Conservative/Reform Jew and a Theravada Buddhist.

Ummm I am not from the UK and there isn't a large concentration of Muslims in my area
