Before we had smartphones and even flip phones, I used to hold a piece of cardboard in my hand and pretend to read books and news, send messages back and forth with friends, and watch random videos. Now, I no longer have to pretend.
I was born after the advent of television, so I always remember having a television around. Although my earliest memories involved a black-and-white TV. I remember when my dad brought home a color TV. Our neighbors didn't have a color set, so they came over and watched the Moon landings in color on our set.
But we didn't get our first eight-track tape player until 1972.
