I thought the flashes were around the hot tub where they most definetly would have an impact

[Part QUOTE=Bastet]Well howdy! :p You've opened the thread, that's a good start...

1. Write down what you think 'Innovation' is (i.e. a definition...try to avoid using a dictionary - your own words, please!)

2. Are you an innovative person? (Yes/No) Why or why not?

3. Can people learn to be innovative? (Yes/No) What do they need to learn?

Thanks everyone! :) [/QUOTE] 1.Innovation something newly invented /made unthought of previously
2.Yes I am; I am very lucky in having a talent for repairing household objects using the most unlikely solutions; the one that made my family laugh the most was when I used a tennis ball behind thr dashboard of our car, to stop a rotary switch from disappearing every time someone tried to use it.
3.I don't know; I think my innovation stems from having pulled every piece of mechanical or electrical gadget appart from a very early age. Cost my parents a fortune until I got to the stage of puting them back togeather again!!!:jiggy:

Well howdy! :p You've opened the thread, that's a good start... Anyway, I'm doing a Certificate course through my workplace, and I have come to a section that requires some input from other people. I tried to ask my workmates, but the majority of them either didn't want to answer, or didn't have the capacity to. They're not hard questions, and if anyone would like to answer them, you'd be a great help to me. The chapter I'm working on is about Innovation. Ok, here goes:

1) Innovation - finding some new way or process of doing something already existing that gets a group of people excited about said process. (It doesn't have to be a large group, either. There are plenty of math proofs that are highly innovative, yet I doubt most of you would get excited about it. Mathematicians, on the other hand, jump for joy...)

2) No. I don't find myself highly innovative (much to my dismay). I've always thought of myself as a great technician, able to use existing processes and tools with a high deal of proficiency, but without the ability to come up with my own new way. I can't get from A to D without skipping B and C. An innovative person would find a way.

3) With my answer to #2 being said, I think a person CAN learn to become innovative to a certain degree. I think it takes a lot of creativity and, sorry to use a cliche, outside-the-box thinking, along with a proclivity to take risks. You cannot have innovation without risk. And I just think that some people, however much they want to be, are just not risk takers or are that creative. But the correct environment can foster risk-taking and creative growth, to varying degrees.

Ah, yes, but I still need to limit the flashes for the highest possible impact, apparently. Otherwise people in the hot tub will just look up, shrug, and say "Meh. She's naked again. Whatever..." ;)
