Interesting article. It makes me wonder what America would be like if this dude ever became (read: he never will) president. And still causes me some concern for when Jeb Bush finally takes the seat.

Donald Trump will be here in Tulsa, OK next week, I think I will attend the rally. I would much prefer Trump, a rich white guy as president over the likes of the corrupt, lying, old witch that is Hillary Clinton or the likes of the corrupt republican establishment of Jeb Bush. I might even hold up a sign during the rally which reads in bold gothic letters "Satanists for Donald Trump. Make the great Satan Great again!" LOL!!

What differentiates me from many of the Trump supporters I met this weekend is that their concerns for our future have led to an overwhelming need to see all of our problems as someone else’s fault.

To Trump and his supporters, Asian countries have “dumped” their goods in America and almost bankrupted our country by causing our trade deficit; Mexico won’t keep “illegals” (who are the “source” for Americans’ drugs) on their side of the border; and, of course, Muslims have “always” been fighting us, and come from countries populated by ingrates who are unwilling to pay for the wars that we started on “their” behalf.

This hits the nail right on the head. The unfortunate reality is that many of Trumps statements are broad generalizations that his supporters want to hear.

Trump is just as corrupt and is on record being dishonest as well.

There is no way that Hillary comes close to being as dishonest and corrupt as Trump. The guy lies constantly. Remember when he said "no one knows the tax code better than me"? He's not even a tax attorney. Pretty sure that there are some tax attornies that even he knows personally that understand the tax code better than he does.

If Trump knows that the tax code is Byzantine and incomprehensible overall, but he could cut his tax bill by "investing" in the right tax lawyers, he knows more about the code than any individual knows about their own specialty in tax law.
It was kind of a throw away line on my part, nothing deep.

Not really.
Trump is a big picture guy. He knows what is important (to him), and gets it done. That is not the same as does it himself, or even knows how to do it in the technical sense.

No, but she didn't claim that "no one knows more about servers than her". And, Trump didn't say that "no one knows how to pay taxes better than me", he said, specifically, "no one knows more about the tax code than me".

My point is that, for Trump that is true. For a billionaire real estate mogul with predatory habits and complicated schemes, he knows more about the overall tax picture than any of the high priced wonks he hires to do his bidding. They know more about individual aspects of the law, but he knows how to accomplish the goal.
That is really my point I suppose. Trump knows how to take care of his interests, and how to get other people to do the work. The reason I don't support him is because I don't think him capable of considering the interests of other people when they conflict with his.
I believe he staunchly believes that what is good for Trump is good for America.

Anybody who doesn't have to pander to the Republican core, maybe. When you have to threaten to go to war to stay in the middle of the pack, most of moderate Americans will dump you.
