I wonder

Spirit of Light

I wonder why I don't feel "need to be right"

I wonder what is "right"

I wonder why others can't be right if I am wrong...

I wonder why RF is so important to me, that I can't just walk away?

Wonder is great, it is progressive, as many of the answeres are available.

The answers bring much more wonder.

I think that is a good humble mindset and especially useful when it comes to arguments.

That's a good thing IMO.

I wonder what is "right"...

One dimension of duality right-wrong.

I wonder why RF is so important to me, that I can't just walk away?

My personal answer is that I'm enjoying myself. Also, one of my weaknesses keeps me here:

IMO, people are only right for themselves.
So it is totally ok with me for you and me to disagree and still we can both be totally right.

Being right is important. :)

But there is a difference between being right about something and having to rub in others faces with it. For instance, if you don't care whether you are right or wrong, it could be potentially dangerous.

Lets assume you thought that Covid were a conspiracy so getting vaccinated were not important or some other thing where you didn't care about whether you were right or wrong.

Figuring out what is right and wrong, helps you make better choices, absolutely nothing is gained from being wrong as far as I see it.

What I have come to realize in my brief existence is that most of the people are wrong about most of the things most of the time. Including you and me.

Look around and you can see the catastrophic consequences of clueless humans running amok making important life decisions out of a preponderance of ignorance.

But that is not to say that all things are in ignorance or wrong. In fact there are two book that are infallible and reliable 100% of the time and by studying these we become wise and equipped make sound decisions now and ones that will affect us into eternity. These are (1) the book of creation, (2) the Holy Scriptures known as the Bible.

Firstly, the book of creation (a metaphorical book). Everything we see in nature and the universe is reliable and real. In fact the reason we are able to communicate with each other right now through our electronic devices is because humans have studied the laws of the universe and have taken advantage of them knowing the certainty of their existence. Humans have been able to send rockets to other planets in our solar system, even asteroids, and comets with textbook precision because the laws of the universe as so finely tuned that you can with 100% accuracy aim that rocket to a tiny rock 100s of millions of miles away and be sure it will reach its target.

Now it isn't because humans came up with the laws of the universe (there are 4: (1) electromagnetism, (2)gravity, (3)the strong nuclear force, (4)the weak nuclear force), that we are able to do these things. For example send messages back and forth through the fiber-optic cables that serve as the medium for the internet, send rockets into outer space, take advantage of the broad spectrum of light rays such as the radio frequency to transmit data over the air, the list of technical advancements is endless. It isn't because we invented these things, it is because we have tapped into their power, have studied the laws of the universe and take advantage of them, knowing they are accurate and reliable.

But studying the book of creation doesn't reveal all things. And God's inspired word reveals more important things. Such as who created us, what is his name, what is his purpose for humankind. It teaches us the way we are to live, why we exist and where we are going. It gives us advice on how to live life, which if applied is always 100% beneficial and good. Humankind's wisdom changes like the wind one day coming here the next day backtracking and going there. It is conflictive, and almost always ends up in failure and misery because of humankind's shortsightedness and inability to rule himself and make wise decisions on his own. God's word is deep, it is profound and it makes a person wise. It equips him with the truth and makes him fully competent to face all of life's challenges. And it is alive. It exerts power and is is able to read thoughts and intentions of the heart and reveals to the reader whom that person is. It is a mirror, it is looking into the perfect law that belongs to freedom and seeing all of our blemishes and errors. The person who looks into that law and persists in it becomes happy, becomes clean, becomes wise, and has found the greatest of all treasures in the universe, a relationship with the personal and real God Jehovah and the hope of life everlasting in the future, and happiness today.

That was a lot of words I know, and I'm sure if I went back and edited my thoughts I could reduce it to half or even less of what I wrote and make more sense. But that is what was coming to my mind as I write, and will leave it is. Perhaps to give you something to think about.

The need to be right, I feel, comes from a desire to boost one's ego. I suspect if you're not enamored with feeling right, you're losing preoccupation with your ego.

Right it... well, not much. There's so much we think we know, but there's so little that is concrete enough to really 'know'.

RF is important to you, I suspect, because, despite there being a few poo-heads on here, you like most of us and enjoy the feedback. :)
