If China overthrew the Burma government in the name of establishing a democratic government...

That is the next step planned by the neo con. Invade Iran and final control of everything there.:D
Control of Iran is not needed for control of the oil supply. Having total control over the Persian Gulf would.
Neo-conservatism is not quite as bad as people make it out to be.

Of course neo conservatism will be good for the US citizen and the UK people, but definitely bad for the rest of the people in this world.

Iran is the only country left in the middle east that has large oil reserve. Controlling it is of utmost important. Unfortunately, as stated by the foreign minster of Iran, US currently has over committed in Afghanistan and Iraq and does not have enough resource to start a war with Iran. It is now an attrition war in Iraq, and I doubt US can do anything to change that, other than to change her policy in middle east, and agree to share the oil resource with the rest of the world powers such as Germany, France, Russia, China and India.

Not really. Control over the logistics of oil, or control over where that oil could be shipped is far more important. The Persian Gulf is where most of the oil is shipped from. Control that, and you have large influence over the oil supply.
If we wanted oil, we would look north, to the Arctic.

Russia has its own oil supply.

I thought they are they same

Russia is very irritated by the Afghanistan event, where she lost the pipe line control.

The Persian Gulf is formed by the coast of Saudi Arabia and Iran. Its where the oil is shipped. Control of Iran is not needed for control over the ulf

Russia has Siberia and the Arctic. they do not need to worry about resources

Iran is holding a large portion of the oil reserve. US does not want that to fall into the hand of Russia or China or even France and Germany.

Do you think Russia is happy to drill their own oil now? They would prefer to get the oil from some where else. When those places are empty, then they can start digging on their own land. Same with USA, try to take out your own oil as little and as slowly as possible, and try to get oil imported as cheap as possible. That is the reason for all the world problem now, the superpower going around fighting over oil, oil, oil, nothing but oil, and has no interest to develop alternate energy source, because it is cheaper to miliatry control the middle east and import the oil.

Oil is short term as a fuel... it is far more valuable as a raw chemical.
There are people alive today who will see the time when Oil is no longer available as a fuel.
Taking that as a fact, why are we fighting... we are Just wasting time and money.
The sooner that alternative energy comes on line, the better it will be for Governments, Business and us.

Tell it those people owning oil interest. They are just looking for short term profit, making money for themselves to be spent in their life time. Those people are not interested in human life in three generations later.
