If god created anything at all.

Why is he still not creating?

If it is all mythology, then life would be strictly as we view it today.

Nothing would change at all.

If your really believe in creation of any kind, don't you have to ask yourself, why did he stop?

He is still creating. Every individual soul is created by God.

And God maintains all things in existence.

You don't believe 'God' exists.. But, you're asking why 'He' stopped 'creating'? -- Really, what are you looking for?

While I can't give the reason for the OP, I believe there are probably a lot of motives for asking such questions: 1. The person wants to know what the religious will answer, 2. The person wants the person answering the question to give it some good thought, 3. It could even be a form of "anti-proselytizing" is some cases: The person who asks wants the theist to think about the question and maybe cause a chain reaction.

I heard that at the moment he's creating stuff on some other planet in some other solar system; maybe even in some other galaxy.

Also, planets, stars, novas, galaxies, etc, are being created as we speak, and in the same manner, those very same things are being destroyed elsewhere. Creation is in a constant flux.

I heard God will create the Shriek in a distant future on Hyperion. We'll meet our end as humanity when we find the time tombs (just avoid the sphinx though and the cruciform, nasty stuff).
