I don't know why, and I don't remember the content, but when I was little(1-2nd gradish), I'd set an alarm in the morning to wake up to listen to this guy...

Also, if I was good, my mom would let me stay up and watch Dateline.

I think I may have been a weird kid.

How many have heard this. I find it interesting yet holding truth. I like to watch it from time to time.

To be honest it sounded like a delusional rambling rant of an ignorant person to me :D

If I were the devil I would be doing whatever is necessary to harm people assuming that is the aim of the devil, and promoting opposition to science and sexual oppression of people would be the way to go with such an inclination.

In my opinion.

It is interesting that I should see this thread today, as earlier I was reading about the Hindu concept of the Kali Yuga. The idea being that our present age is destined to an inexorable moral decline. Until the end, when God will appear (on a white horse with a blazing sword) to restore moral order. An image we also find in the Book of Revelation.

The pertinent theme of the Kali Yuga is the elevation of wealth and sex as the primary goods of human life. Virtue, as inculcated by religious principles, becomes increasingly derided. Which is what we see in the world today. Sex and money have become the highest goods and stodgy old religion (which teaches otherwise) is seen as an oppressive yoke to be dismantled.

I remember I used to tune in to WGN every morning to listed to "The Rest of the Story."

As far as the video goes, I really don't have any interest in blaming humanity's actions on some random deity.

If I were the devil 'you wouldn't see me coming', best exemplified in the movie "The Devil's Advocate".

I was going to reply with something similar.

To me, it sounds very much like just adapting his "story" here to the "evils" as assumed by generalizing various assumed negative behaviors in various sectors of society. So, he takes the worst of what he sees going on, and says, "If I were the devil, I would be doing all of these bad things." - and then what? Think himself very clever? Why yes... yes I think that is what happened here. He thought himself very clever. You could do the exact same thing for "God." As in: "If I were God, I would be influencing people to start more charities, to help one another out when natural disasters occur, to develop vaccines quickly and dole them out expediently when a pandemic hits." And some of those things occur as well. So? What does this PROVE? Nothing. It proves nothing. Except that when it came to religious blather, Paul Harvey was one heck of a windbag.

. . . That probably should have been Harvey's closing statement: "If I were the devil, I'd know my plan was nearly complete when all of the aforementioned sounded merely like a delusional rambling rant to the good people enveloped in my scheme."

People always be blaming someone else, eh.
Voters & believers make choices, but don't own the consequences.
"The Devil made me do it."
"The oligarchy runs government."
"The military industrial complex causes war."
"Secular humanists are destroying the family."
And so on.....

There were no drug dogs or metal detectors at the public school i went to, because after guns were banned and society became liberalised enough not to go around killing people in the name of the futile war on drugs we didn't need either.

Church leaders misusing children is only likely to be known because in a more skeptical society it is less likely to be covered up, which I see as a good thing.

Filling the prisons is probably due to mismanagement of mental health issues in the US, I haven't heard of Australian prisons overflowing with the notable exception of our immigration detention centres.

In my opinion.
