Then how did Morocco and Indonesia become islamic when islam originated in Mecca?
How did South America become catholic when the catholic church originated in Rome (Italy)?
You do realise that none of these three questions have anything to do with whether or not Israel is considered a colonialist project, right? Also, why is it that 67 countries have English as an official language, Spanish is spoken in 36 countries, Arabic is spoken in 35 countries, yet Hebrew is spoken in only one?
"Religions and languages are spread through a variety of means (implicitly including colonialism). Therefore... Israel cannot possibly be a an example of a state resulting from colonialism?"
Is that the logic?
Because it's possible that in taking that land, the people who did so - and the authority that gave them the legal power to do so - engaged in colonialism. Why is it that the only country which is a Jewish nation, existing in the historical homeland of the Chosen People, is considered a "colonial" state?
Do you believe that any group of people, by right of their religion or ethnic origin, are necessarily entitled to any specific area of land and that, therefore, that group removing - or having removed - people who had been living on that land for generations doesn't technically count as colonialism?
Do you know what colonialism is?
