Genesis 1:3
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
Gods word spoke everything into being.
In the same chapter we see the Holy Spirit moving upon the face of the deep.
Everything God said happened.
14: And the Word became flesh and lived amongst us.
A promised Messiah received and foretold by the Prophets by the power of Gods Spirit in man.
God spoke those words about Christ through his Prophets and so the WORD did become flesh. The Messiah was now here.
WRONG!
Psalm 12:
6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
7 Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.
God is not dependent on his words. There is nothing impossible for God and preserving his words are childs play for him and near impossible for us.
Except that the power of Gods Holy Spirit has always been with man to lead him in both the teachings of the Prophets and the Laws of God.
The Torah cannot change because they have learned it off by heart since it was given.
God made it very clear with Moses in
Deuteronomy 18:
18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken?
22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
God is not made up he isn't far away or incapable of doing what he promises.
As God has clearly warned anyone who does not hearken to the words of Christ will be held accountable.
So a Prophet raised up from the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Christ was the Son of God and his words like the Prophets were Spirit and they were life.
So God never changed his mind and never chose anyone outside the descendants of Isaac and Jacob.
I have just proved you have got it wrong when it comes to:-
Clutching at straws there. According to Peter
Acts 10.38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
The disciples never preached that Jesus was God. They preached him to be the Messiah and God with him and he was filled with power and the Holy Ghost.
Jesus obeyed God and he called him Father and he said the two commandments which sum up the whole law and teachings of the Prophets is:- Love God with all your heart and love your neighbour as yourself.
Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
So Jesus is the Son of God.
There is a two-fold double bluff... You see if you believe Jesus is the Messiah and the Son of God you are saved by his death and resurrection.
What people do is wrongly assume that you must believe he is God to be saved. Where as the bible tells us that we are to believe what he has taught.
In his temptation he proved that we are only to serve God and that if he had been God he could not have been tested.
He used the WORDS of God through the Prophets to defeat Satan showing the authority of Gods words.
How could God be asked to worship Satan? Like Satan could ask God to worship him?
We know Jesus was the Son of God the Messiah and he worshipped the true God of heaven alone.
The Roman Catholics kept the Jews from belief by such an untruth and the people today say anyone who does not believe Jesus is God is not saved.
Both untrue and both with consequences, But the disciples knew this teaching creeping in and warns everyone.
King James Bible
Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
Jesus came in the flesh but God was with him and anointed him with the Holy Spirit and Power.
As God tells the end from the beginning. As our lives and days allotted before they begin
. Psalm 139:16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
King James Bible
Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
God already has seen the end. He is omnipresent in all times and in all places. Hence Jesus did not know the hour or day of his return only God the Father the one God of heaven and earth.
We are all made one in Gods Holy Spirit. Jesus and God were one and he asked God to make us one as they were one.
The body of Christ the Church is made one by the power and Presence of Gods Spirit in each believer. So John baptised with water and Christ with the Holy Spirit.
If you do not have the Spirit you do not belong to God or Christ.
The truth is easier... Deuteronomy 18 as earlier and also Act 10 again. Thomas knew that God himself would put the words in the mouth of his Messiah.
So he knew by his words that (a) Jesus was the Messiah (b) God there with him because he said he would speak through him personally as he did with Moses.
So the statement is correct in that he says "My Lord" note lower casing it would be LORD if referring to God and " My God" he knew God there speaking through him.
My Lord and My God.
As you can see the use of the word 'good' is being wrongly perceived,
God is good by his divine nature but mans was fallen so was not predominently good.
Christ had the divine nature of God, being without sin, just as all in heaven he was good.
In questioning the man he was really testing to see what he meant by 'good teacher'.
Did he teach well? Was what he taught good? Why call me good when only God is good? It is true God is good by nature he is not bad because he is Just, righteous and without sin.
He knows everything but Jesus didn't.
So Jesus is the Son of God but nevertheless make no mistake if you do not obey his words then you do not follow the true God.
