If offer, would you take it?

"So if you were offer eternal life or immortality, would you take it"

If it's eternal life in happiness, then why not. But if it's eternal life in suffering, then no thanks....

I'd take eternal life any day as long as 1. I don't age beyond my 20's/30's and 2. I have the option of dying when I need to. I don't see an eternity on the surface of the sun or a scorched earth as being much fun.

The fact is, there's so much to learn on this Earth, eternal life (or radically icreased longevity) would be difficult to grow bored with unless you seriously lacked imagination.

There's only so much you can learn - it won't fill infinity.

Only if I could have some kickass superpower to go with it, and a neverending bottle of Jameson... of course, I'd have no problem taking the neverending bottle of Jamie AS my superpower..

I must really lack a lot of imagination, then. I'm already kind of bored. :sarcastic

There are so many things to learn, but I think that the patterns begin to develop fairly quickly, so even new things become to be seen as same-old-same-old after a while because although they're new, they're not an entirely new concept.

Hey, if we're both granted eternal life, you wanna hang out?

I'm going to have to disagree with you there, there's always something new going on and something old being forgotten about. While the Earth is alive, there will always be something else to discover.

Of course, for me personally, the moment I don't want to learn anything else is the moment my life has lost it's purpose. I guess if this was to happen after however many years, I'd have to end it.

Lol, I don't mean you'd never get bored, that's a given. I mean you'd never get bored with life.

You could be right about things simply repeating themselves, but I still think there would be enough to keep you entertained. Maybe it's just me, but I'm always fascinated by humanity's progress.

Well, I am all kinds of awesome ;)

You'd have to promise to take me to Egypt though. And Greece and Rome :D

Absolutely!

No problem, I've got a soft spot for ancient civilisations. We may have to travel by night though, the sun in England gets too much for me, I don't think I'd survive in Egypt :beach:

Now I think I'm falling in love. I'm studying Ancient Civilizations in University!

I'm good with travelling by night. The sun tends to turn my pale/transluscent skin a gross red color.
