If you become God what would you do?

Being a follower of Hinduism, the first thing I would do (as a personal God) is end the endless cycle of karma (cause and effect). No more suffering for lives after lives for one bad deed committed in ignorance.

I will also do some tweaking to Maya/illusion. I'll remove Maya's 'tamas' (darkness) aspect since It keeps us in ignorance and tempts us to commit abominable acts. In my opinion, the world will be a much better place without it.

What about you? What will you do? :)
A Hinduistic god? So, limited power and fixed to a realm. I'd like to be the god of science and education. I'd have a guru who spreads my words and I'd make sure people could believe in her because I'd turn up from time to time. I'd perform a "miracle" and then reveal how it's really just science and a bit of a slight of hand.

I would give @Harel13 a huge library, bigger than any library, full of all the books he could ever want to read and all the solitude he could ask for and company as wished.
How soon can you set me up with that? I brought back all of my stuff from yeshiva earlier this week, my room is tiny and crowded and I need to organize it before next week. While "too many books" isn't really a thing in itself, it is, nonetheless, problematic when considering the measurements of my room.

Like the Abrahamic God who is known by many to be a cruel vengeful God, bringing plagues, epidemics and even killing new born Egyptian babies, the Hindu God too is kinda cruel. He doesn't really murder people but He set in motion the law of karma. According to this law if you do a bad deed, you'll not only suffer in various Hells but you'll also suffer from all sorts of diseases and poverty each time you reincarnate here on Earth. A benevolent God wouldn't hold a grudge on his children for ages and would have easily forgiven them for their actions. That's why i wanted to be a better Hindu God. :)

Isn't there already a religion of science. I think it's called Scientology. The only thing it needs is a God. And I think you'll be perfect for that post, bringing education to every corners of the globe. ;)

If I had the power I would set you up with all the needful things in life, but alas, I am not, in fact, God :(

So you'll just have to settle for having to organise your stuff. Just start taking over the rest of the place; I'm sure the family won't mind... :D

I wish I was Harel. :p It would have been great to have a library built by Rival. That way i won't have to spend a single penny. Having a small library in my home is my dream too. But like Harel my room is quite small. :(

My room is also tiny. We will just have to hope we land good jobs so we can seclude ourselves in huge personal libraries later on.

And Harel can be rest assured I wouldn't put Lord of the Flies in his library :grimacing:

I guess I would just give Harel his own personal paradise in a library

And other folks actually then get out of bed and go about our days in our own normal lives.... *looks at clock*

I don't have a problem with the law of karma (and it would probably not be in my power to change it anyway). We need cause and effect to do proper science. As long as the consequences fit the action, karma is a good thing. The only problem with the Hinduistic understanding of it is that it isn't educational. You forget what you have done in your last life so you can't connect your action to the consequences. Maybe I would change that and teach my followers to understand karma better.

That's a rather Western understanding of karma.
