If you could have a super power ...

I agree about disagreeing with Wolverine's name- although I thought the "Howlett" part was appropriate, seeing as the majority of the series was on emphasising his connection with wolves. I'm not sure if after all this time, though, they could have come up with a name that all the readers would be pleased by. I'm just glad it wasn't Sir Whittleforce von Mountjoy the XXXXIInd. ("Lady' would have also been slightly disappointing.)

I think I'm with cfer, that this is something that deserves mulling over. Hypothetical superpowers can't be decided upon on the drop of a hat, y'know!

I think, though, that I'd like something akin to the Phoenix's power, except without the predisposition to being a destroyer-of-worlds. I'd go with my own totem animal, which is coincidental, since it's also considered in a traditional Chinese saying as being one of the 'four intelligent creatures.' I'm not sure what superpowers that would entail, though...

I wish I had the ablity to understand math and sciene better. Like most long-term martial arts I suffer from the delusion that I have super human fighting ablities....

Not that I am a violent person, but I would like the power to control electricity and fry stuff....

EDIT:
Perhaps the ability to fly or beathe underwater would be cool too while frying stuff

I would love to be able to fly. At some point I was definitely some flying animal, because I adore the sky and am obsessed with wanting to fly...I also hate enclosed spaces :(

But...angellus...if you were underwater, you wouldn't be able to fry stuff...would you?

Okay, everyone must admit that Magneto had one of the coolest powers ever. But I'd LOVE to be Cloak or Dagger. Anyone want the other? Read about them here - http://www.marveldirectory.com/individuals/c/cloak.htm I think I prefer Cloak, honestly. I love the idea of disappearing into darkness.

And man, Elektra is so amazing...but she doesn't really have a superpower, per se.

*is thinking way too much into this*

THIS...THIS is what happens when you read too many comic books! *runs screaming*

Ooooo... That's something I hadn't thought of. I'm trying to find a new home for the dozens or so of random Marvel comics that are threatening to overwhelm my room... Maybe I should see if any of our fellow RF members want 'em.

Sadly, we don't have good comics places here...has anyone been following the Funky Winkerbean? the guy who sells comic books got arrested :(

I'm just the opposite...I settled my view because I've read too many comic books.

*looks forward to returning to TX...where there is regular access to comics*

Hehee, because I'm trying to simplify my life, and because- although I enjoy most of the comics- the only ones I really want to keep are the ones with Nightcrawler in them. Most of them are Marvel ones, "eXiles", "X Men" and a few others. It's not in my nature to ask money for them, but I'm wondering if I should try auctioning them off for Darfur...

I would be Retrorich’s trusty sidekick, Retro-Lad because there is an abundance of pain, illness and war and I feel he could use some help.

I would really love to have the ability to behave myself when I'm drunk. It's something I have been working on for several years but can't quite get right.

I'll tell myself with every sip "behave" but something will catch my attention, I'll forget I'm behaving, and off I'll go.

Failing that I'd go for what Michel said.

Speaking of super-powers, has anyone played "City of Heroes"? I'm intruiged by the game.
Yeah, I play City of Heroes! :)

With family and work I don't have much time for it, but I play occassionally on the weekends.

Have you played at all?

Another interesting video game that came out before City Of Heroes but is coming out with a sequel is Freedom Force for the PC.

Yay, Prima! I always love to see another Nightcrawler fan around!

No, I haven't yet played COH, Atofel. I love MMORPGs, but that's one I haven't tried. I had been wondering if it gave you a chance to develop your characters personality/ history.

I want the power to create peace wherever I go.
I think you have that power already.

Well... i suspect it doesn't have as much as some of the other MMORPGs, but I don't really have any others to compare to. This is the only one I have played.

One of the real strengths of the game is the customizability of the costume builder. You really can make a unique character. The costume builder was really well done, and it is fun just making characters.

I have a group of friends here in Tucson that all play together (8 of us!). We meet up online on Sunday nights and go create mayhem. :D
