If you don't believe the Bible as all truth, how/why are you arguing scripture?

Indeed. Even if we set aside all of the contradictions and errors.

and from a purely cultural view it is monumentally important.

The same can be said of The Iliad.

An error should indeed cause one to give it harder scrutiny, but not flat-out, knee-jerk rejection of it.

Rejecting the Bible as a divinely-inspired piece of literature doesn't mean that one is obliged to reject it as a piece of literature.
