If you serve Kellogg’s products to your family, you are serving up bigotry

Every once in awhile isn't going to hurt you. And, yes, do read the ingredients. A number of Kellogg's cereals, including the sugary ones, are made with whole grains. They even make some that are a "step above" with bran. They even make many that are whole grain and not sugary.
And, realistically, the occasional sugary treat isn't going to hurt you. It's when you eat too many and too often that they become a problem.
Well that's the most logical and sensible post on the entire thread!

Never fully understood, nor agreed with, the rationale where you don't buy something because of political rhetoric the company may (currently) engage in. Have thought if that were in place with everything, nothing would be bought. Including music/art. Agree with @Nowhere Man - way too superficial for my tastes. Must be a Leftist thing.

It actually goes back to Right-winged Capitalism, where Milton Friedman declared it our "purest Democracy," that we "vote with our dollars," and where it is assumed people will be responsible consumers and punish companies that behave badly by taking their money elsewhere.

So, Brietbart just gave Kellogg's a huge amount of free advertising and probably increased their sales for the next two weeks.

I understand "buy something else" as long as the something else has equal or great value. The "don't buy this" based on political notions of owner is thing I don't understand, and how that would play out. There's the 'buycott' where a campaign ensues to support something because people see the value in it and then there's the boycott where people refuse to buy something because of the owner's views. I don't see the latter working out all that well, especially when it is based on mostly propaganda.

I don't care for Kellogs junk food and I don't care for Brietbarts junk news.
Who am I supposed to boycott here? Why should I consider this question?
