If you were God, how would you have created the universe? What would you have done differently?

Personally, I would do multiple things differently:
1) I would make sure that all people were programmed with a strong concept of morality, so that people could clearly know if a choice they made was objectively moral or objectively immoral.
2) I would make it so that all (human) beings had overwhelming evidence and/or proof of my existence.
3) I would not allow those who do evil to succeed at all; as in, I would stop them before they could make a truely negative impact (as in, I wouldn't have allowed the Holocaust or other genocidal and homicidal movement to occur).
4) I would not allow for there to be more than one religion, and that religion would be very clearly correct.

When I was a child, I would draw a plane or a car and put lots of really cool weapons on it. Then I would add even more cool weapons. Then some more. I'd make one of those.

I'd make myself (god) cooler, like Zeus, Ra or Thor rather than an amorphous 'entity' and make my holy book really exciting. I'd cash in by writing a few sequels too, and possibly a prequel.

I would turn Donald Trump into a Mexican domestic worker.

I would change one of the 10 commandments to "thou shalt not be Celine Dion".

I would make it much harder for humans to conceive. The female should have a well taken care of "nest" before conception would be possible. That might make us treat our children better.

I don't like making detailed plans, so I would probably just try something and then see how it went.

If the universe turned out to be a boring one I could just destroy it and try again. Or maybe I wouldn't destroy it but just let it do it's own thing for a few billion years. Then I could check on it again and see if it had turned into something less boring.

Meenwhile I could create a few new universes that were each different from each other and I would see if any of them were interesting. Then let them do their thing for a long while.

Maybe at some point I would find a universe which I found interesting and turn myself into a person living in that universe so that I could see the universe from a different angle. From the customers point of view I suppose you could say.
That would probably be an interesting experience.

Come to think of it, that sounds very much like a description of the current multiverse. Maybe I am God and I just don't remember because I wanted to make the 'human experinece' more authenticso I made myself not remember.
No wonder things are such a mess. Nobody is running the show

There's this wasp called a "tarantula hawk".

They sting tarantulas, and then bring them back to their nest underground. There, they lay an egg on the spider's abdomen, and then leave the spider there, paralyzed. When that egg hatches, the larva burrows down into the spider's guts, and begins eating it from the inside, avoiding any major organs to keep the spider alive and fresh for as long as possible while it eats it. Eventually, the larva grows into an adult, and emerges from the spider.

I would probably not have things like that.

All four of these items concern human beings in particular.

So as a more serious answer than my tarantula hawk description, I'm not sure what I would do if I were a god. Because if I were a god, I'd be nothing like me, unless we're talking like, one of those very anthropomorphic gods.

Most likely as a divine universe-creator, or some kind of super-consciousness, I doubt I would have all four items on my list of changes that specifically involve one particular species on one particular planet.
