He leans that way, but still wants capitalism to
fuel the taxes which would pay for more social

You were the one bleating about socialism and comparing Sanders' policies to Venezuela, and when given examples of successful countries with the same policies that Sanders is advocating you went No True Scotsman on us.

That's just a figment of your imagination. All of those countries would just love a medical system like ours where they could pay more and get less. Who wants an efficiently run and fairly applied medical policy? Not me, no sirree Bob!
Even if he had a real socialist agenda, I wouldn't expect him
to eschew techniques available under the current system.
One plays by the rules, even when one wants to change them.
My biggest problem with him is being a typical campaigning
politician....making promises which taxpayers cannot keep.

It is not "about oil". It is gross mismanagement by Chavez,
a guy remarkably like Trump in his message and apoeal.
Keep in mind though that Democrats don't really want socialism, what they want is social programs funded by capitalism.

This reminds me of the 4 intractable problems with Soviet agriculture.

It makes perfect sense to me.
I observe that most people vote based upon how a candidate makes them feel.
Attractive (albeit empty) promises are about emotion, not issues.
Examples, you ask?
- Mexico will pay for the wall.
- Free college for all.
- Read my lips...no new taxes.
- I will close Guantanamo
There are so many more.
I suppose not enough diversity in socialism. If the government fails, it fails big time. It fails for all of us.
Putting so much power in the hands of so few, not a good idea.
I suppose that is why I am more conservative leaning. Best not to put too much dependence on other folks.
Be careful there...if you become too independent of others,
the wags here will label you a <Gasp!> "libertarian".
