Illogical Conclusions

There has been several people on this website who have said what I think is troublesome but they don’t say that about the Christian, who believes that a man walked out of the tomb 2000 years ago. I fail to see this reasoning. If one is so bold to make such claims then they should be ready to make such claims about Christians.

1) safety in numbers - you are one guy and there are hundreds of millions of Christians
2) Christianity is almost 2,000 years old so is an established belief system

And if you are a Christian:

Jesus is God and you aren't

People worship Jesus because they think he is God

And they don't worship you as they don't think you are God

They believe only God is worthy of worship, not humans

I’m glad they do actually. This thread isn’t about my yearning to be worshipped. It’s about how people see the belief of a man walking out of the tomb as not troublesome, but a belief that all of existence rises and falls with a man’s birth and death as troublesome. The logic is thin.

Thus is a valid argument

It is the exact structure of why it is reasonable not to believe that people should worship you and have you as their spiritual leader or whatever it is you want

Yes I get it. Christians beliefs are safe cuz Jesus is god because he walked out of a tomb 2000 years ago but my thoughts are troublesome because I’m just a human who when dies nothing happens. I just rot in the ground and life goes on. I get your “logic” believe me.

There are cultural and social reasons why people believe in Jesus

Well, I understand the part about being a good person and all that stuff with Christianity but the rest of it I’m a little fuzzy on.

Well, it’s not really what I wanted. I didn’t “want” you to say Christians are not rational. I’m glad that they aren’t 100% rational actually. That way it has opened up the doors for further enlightenment.
