I'm a Gnostic Christian. I prepose we end Abrahamic religious warfare

By refusing to recognize violent Abrahamic religions, Judaism, Pauline Christianity, and Islam, that are based on false history and absurd mythologies. We who continue to let Jewish, Pauline Christian and Muslim religious myths go by without protesting their falseness are playing the role of accomplices to murder and mayhem being acted out by these very same Jewish, Pauline Christian and Muslim believers and keeping our world in almost perpetual warfare for about 2500 years. It's time to stop the madness and move on to a higher level of spirituality for those who claim spiritual consciousness. When atheists can rightly point to theistic warmongering it's past time to correct the problem.

I think the only way to do it is to not let Abrahamic believers post their religious beliefs without questioning the historical and mythological foundations of those beliefs. And I am fully Christian, a believer in the Spirit of Christ and God so I know God and the Spirit of Christ can withstand all scrutiny because the Spirit has never been nor can it ever be imprisoned in any single religious text or form. This is one of the benefits of the Gnostic path to God, seeking knowledge of God instead of relying on the traditions of the fathers where God is privy only to self-selected religious authorities and the individual's relationship with God is filtered and controlled by others, most of them dead men while God is God of the living. Only those fearful of their cherished beliefs being exposed as reworked ancient mythologies given monotheistic faces and fictitious contexts will oppose historical discovery but historical accuracy isn't the point: Debunking Abrahamic religious mythologies is the only way to stopping Abrahamic believers from committing more crimes against humanity, more needless warfare against each other and everyone else who gets in the way of the terrorist Abrahamic religions.

I am well aware (often have help there..) that because I believe organized religions cause far more trouble than they're worth and mess with people's direct relationship with God by inflicting ancient men's ideas about things, about God and society that this will be seen as provoking controversy but I don't accept that because when do we address wrongs in society that keep us at war?. These ancient ideas end up stagnant as group mindlessness being passed onto future generations causing endless warfare because the root religions were based on religious wafare.

When do we stop it? When do we say "ENOUGH!"??

Being the Christian that you claim, which means a disciple of Jesus Christ, I suppose that you are aware that Christ's ancestory is reported to go back through Abraham, there for is "Abrahamic"?

If we stop Christians, Jews and Muslims from posting without scrutiny- then it be only fair to have scrutiny on all religions. And have scrutiny of atheists, agnostics, as well. And when will it end?
If you silence one group, then it will make it so much easier to silence other groups later on.
On top of all that, there is violence even without religion.
What you propose is an infringement on our free speech and yours, too (as you are a Christian).
What people say is their own opinions and we are all entitled to it.

Do you 'know' or believe?
Interesting that you separate Pauline Christians from the rest of Christianity... is there a reason why you think they should be held to stricter review?

while part of me loves the militant strong right hand that will do away with all the troubles and the negative side of religions. That would make you no better then them.

PLUS the positive side of religions now a days pretty much out weighs everything you stated.

Your post is a ramble filled with contradictions.

First, Gnosticism is based in mythology, just like those belief systems you criticize.

Second, certain sects of Gnosticism were actually more elitist than those so-called Pauline Christianities.

Third, if you don't like 'organized religion', then you might want to start calling yourself a Mystic rather than a Gnostic. The Gnostics, originally, were church-based and usually centered around a specific individual's interpretations and/or scriptures.

Fourth, if you don't like traditions of the Fathers, you can just put that Nag Hammadi library away, since those texts are just writings from the Gnostic Fathers (some of whom contradicted each other)

Lastly, it sounds like your gripe may just be with Fundamentalism, rather than just broadly lambasting all of those naughty regular religions. Islam and Judaism both have Gnostic-flavored esoteric interpretations and Pauline Christianity is, at its root, a Mystery religion itself.

I think the OP is probably what some refer to as a neo-gnostic, but some who fall into this category simply refer to themselves as gnostic. Typically, their connection between their belief systems and the various movements in first several centuries after Jesus now grouped under the umbrella label gnostic is tenuous at best. Sometimes this seems to be due to a lack of knowledge of actual history and a reliance on sensationalist books, but I've known individuals who refer to themselves as gnostic despite a fairly intimate knowledge historical gnosticism.

I don't want to speculate what the OP means exactly by using the term "gnostic christian," but I would imagine that your accurate descriptions of gnosticism don't apply.

Everyone is a neo-Gnostic. There is no continuous lineage going back to ancient Gnosticism, save for the Mandaeans in Iraq. Gnosticism, at best, is a reconstructionist religion.

I think broadly labeling mainstream religions as naughty is to lose out on a wealth of tradition.

It is wise to scrutinize anything any individual posts, or says for that manner. The very core of what waterbear says, minus the singling out of a specific group of people, is reasonable. History and historical context is important, if anyone is shy of scrutiny they should re-examine their personal philosophy.

Debunking Abrahamic religious mythologies is the only way to stopping Abrahamic believers from committing more crimes against humanity

How would you go about debunking these mythologies? What, for that matter, do you define as a mythology? The metaphysical aspects of a mythology are impossible to prove one way or the other, debunking them could only include looking for contradictions in the logic of doctrines promoting said mythologies.

Everyone is a neo-Gnostic.

I learned a long time ago the futility involved in trying to explain why certain labels people use to describe their religion/spiritualism may be inaccurate.

Gnosticism, at best, is a reconstructionist religion.

At best is certainly correct. Gnosticism is a modern label for a wide variety of groups/individuals, and scholars can't agree on 1) which groups, if any, it should apply to, 2) when it became, or 3) what the central tenets were. For example, some include Marcion as a gnostic. Others don't. Some texts refer to or describe an intricate (and in my opinion rather bizzare) cosmology, while others seem to be unaware of archons, the demiurge/Yaldaboath, etc.

And then there's the fact that many neo-gnostics rely on completely inaccurate descriptions of gnostic groups. But in the end, historical accuracy need not be a concern when one is seeking a spiritual/religious path. After all, Wicca has numerous followers in many countries, and despite the fact that we now know with as much certainty as is possible in historical study that no link between Wicca and any actual underground religion dating back at least as far as the so-called "burning times" exists.

I think broadly labeling mainstream religions as naughty is to lose out on a wealth of tradition.
I agree.

Seriously? You think that the Abrahamic faiths are causing all of the worlds problems?

Here's a a brief history lesson

WWI breaks out and Bulgaria (Orthodox) Austria (Catholic) Germany (Protestant) and the Ottoman Empire (Muslim) all bind together to fight Britain ( Anglican) her Colonies (India=Hindus, Sihks and Muslims, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand = Protestants of all kinds) France (Catholic) and Russia (Orthodox)

Clearly it's not so much that actual beliefs that cause conflict, but the politics behind them.
