I'm going to hell.

I've heard that preachers and fundamentalist types are quite prominent in America and seem to try their hardest to p**s as many people off as possible. Well, today this happened to me. I got told by some woman when I was shopping in Liverpool city centre that I am going to go to hell if I don't accept Christ. Then she told me that all Muslims will go to hell because of their beliefs on the nature of Jesus then she told me all gays will go to hell.

Bloody psycho.:sarcastic

I personally don't believe in hell and I have no problem with people who do but it does irritate me when people try to scare me into believing with stories about hell. I just wonder if such people(like the woman you talk about) really believe in Christ simply because they're scared of hell.

These people really don't seem to me to have quite got the whole idea about their religion, I mean, it's nice that they want to share it with others but through attempting to strike fear into passers-by? It feels like they're trying desperately to do anything they believe will reserve them a spot in heaven rather than really changing themselves and living a 'good life'.

Nice avatar, btw.

Oooooooooooh, I love people like that. I am not sure if they are just plain indoctrinated and have no imagination whatsoever, or so centered on their own self that they can't see the wood for trees.

A strange choice of words ? I guess threy have a problem so big that they do need love; there's something wrong with them.

You mean, a sort of eternal fire insurance??? :D

According to the scriptures, many who FULLY BELIEVE that they are going to heaven are indeed going to hell. It's a matter of choice. Love your fellow man and you will do well. That's what the scriptures really teach. Being hateful and condescending don't seem to be attitudes consistent with salvation.

Matthew 7:15 "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. 21 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' 23 Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' NIV

NIV

Yeah, its like "better cover my rear in the afterlife" :D . You're right, those are attitudes not consistent with a belief that salvation is freely given to people without merit.

Warm Saki bombs don't ;)

There's an exception to everything. It seems that you're going to get sick of drinking the one good-tasting warm beer while we enjoy the bountiful blessing of all the cold beers of God's provision.

You know you love BBQ when you try to grill a beer.

We'll find a way to have cold beer. If half these people tell me that I'm going to Hell go to Heaven, Hell should be a winter wonderland.
