I'm sick of it.

My gosh, the amount of bashing people do, over politics, it's really really really old now. It just drags on and on and on, and all I ever hear is "such-and-such should NOT be president" and "LOL Mr. xxyz said something stupid - he's obviously not good enough for presidency"

Seriously, I am SO insanely sick of the political bashing that's been going on. I really don't want to hear why the other SHOULDN'T get my vote. I really don't want to hear where the other falls short. I really don't want to hear about a view the other had 20 goddamn years ago about something that's barely even relevent!!

What I DO want to hear, is why someone SHOULD be getting my vote. I want to hear what you will BRING to the office, not what the other WONT. I want to hear why you are a good choice. I want you to be able to run a campaign WITHOUT BASHING ANYONE.

Far as I can see, both "sides" are as stupid as each other, the supporters sometimes even more so. If it seems to me that any political party can't run tell me why I should vote for them without telling my why the other is a bad choice, I don't feel they deserve my vote.

I'm right there with ya.

It is ridiculous, seeing intelligent adults act like immature little drama queens.

I hate drama. I hate little girls. The only thing I hate more is grown men who throw mud at each other like dramatized little girls.

Right there with you. I made one of these threads a while ago. All I got in response were those same people complaining at me for not supporting their particular "messiah".

HEY!! dont blame it on "little girls " and "queens"...Men act like apes and it has nothing to do with little girls or women being "dramatic"...

The men hold their own...

Oh and by the way...I dont "hate little girls" anymore than I "hate little boys" that throw temper tantrums and hit below the belt...

Wasnt it "Iron Mike" that bit the earlobe off of Holyfield in a "man fight"...

Please don't apply man baby behavior as if its a "womans" territory...

OH and I will say further!!! They are NOT like "little girls" they are like "BIG MEN" acting out like BIG men will do...It has NOTHING to do with females...

Why connect bad "grown man behavior" that they have free will over to girls???

They in fact are acting how MEN act...NOT how girls act...IF there are similarities in "bad behavior" then why if I throw a fit does someone not say...."stop acting like man"...

If you do not see differences in terms of the war in Iraq, health care, reproductive rights, the future quality of the Supreme Court, etc., then it takes more than a little chutzpah to declare the two campaigns stupid.

That's not what I'm talking about.

They're both stupid enough to buy into this whole "He is worse than I am" bollocks.

It's ridiculous that none seem to be able to run a campaign only talking about their own good points, rather than an opponent's negatives.

Well...they are acting like "girls" so...Its easy to see...If they could just act like "men" instead of "girls" there would be a respectable debate...And the issues would be clear...The problem is they are acting like women...

Negative campaigns have been the go for as long as I can remember. I can recall as a kid thinking, "Gee, if you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all." It's also the syndrone of trying to make yourself look better by putting someone else down. I can't stand politics altogether. It doesn't matter what party you are, even if the opposition has a good idea, you have to say it's bad. Why can't politicians pull their head out of their *ss*s for once and think about the people they're supposed to be serving? Personally, I don't think the people at all these rallies waving banners and wearing buttons have got much going for them either. Makes me sick.

In a "logical" debate..You would point out your opponents weakneses...Thats part of the process...Its shouldnt be 99.999999% of what you discuss I agree...

I stopped voting when people were sitting around "counting chads"...I always thought "Chad" was the name of my friends son...Or this nice guy I knew in highschool...

After that fiasco I said ...well...a bad word starting with F followed by it...

What's a chad?

Its this thing...on a piece of voting card...See you 'punch" through a hole on the card.....If it doesnt go all the way through...we hold it up to a light...and determine if you actually meant to punch that hole...

NOW having said that ...some people like poked the "wrong hole" realized that...and had a Chad and a half...

So there was a "Chad " hanging " off the voting card and a "clear penetration"...

So its like a mix...

After about 700 hours of watching them "count Chads"...I said "never again...

TOO much for me...

I Hate politicians, they a** covering pr**ks to be quite honest. They don't give a damn about the place they're representing, they only care about themselves and their own prestige.
The American election has gone on for too long, here in Aussie we have to put up with it every night. I dont think anyone even cares, we're not America, we don't get a say, they do nothing for us, so why do we see it on tv every night

Well, I haven't been here long enough to know exactly where the bashing is coming from or what they're saying. I will say that it is human (at least in this society -- "human") to attack the other team since elections are pretty much ran like sporting events. And besides, both John McCain and Barack Obama aren't that different when it comes to key issues for me, personally. There is one major issue, however, that is determining my vote, though. But I'll save it for another thread.

Anyway. Yeah, I agree with the rant. But it is the job of the voter to do his or her own research. Screw the clowns trying to get you to vote for their man because "that dude is old!" OR "that dude loves terrorists!", or whatever. Do the research. You know what you like and dislike. Plus one of the benefits of living in a so-called Democracy is that you don't have to vote for the two major players. Of course, there is that annoy little earwig in the back of your brain telling you "you're throwing your vote away!" I don't think so. If it came right down to it I'd rather vote on principle than vote for some ******* who I really don't like. That's a horrible feeling.
