I'm so Vain

ratikala

Istha gosthi
namaskaram

Well...I didn't paint them for you.

*sigh*

there should be No I when doing seva , ....

when we paint Radha we should think like a gopi and paint only to please Krsna , ....

Please I ask you again take these pictures down from the world wide web , ...If you wish to discuss the Qualities of Sri Radhika I will happily share everything I have been taught , ...

ok , ...so you aplaud constructive criticism between artists , ....then let us discuss how to paint as beautifully as this , ....

here the painting is so sweet the Eyes are very large , this is a new style but still it is beautifull , ...Sri Radhika must steal the heart of her beloved and of all devotees , ....

you want to paint deities then steal my heart , ....

I've been trying to let this one go because I realize I'm a relative noob, both to the forum itself and to Hinduism in general. So obviously, I lack the knowledge that pretty much everyone here already has. But I haven't been able to let it go, and I apologize in advance for not doing so.

You know, I understand that tradition, protocol, and respect toward the deities are important, but it seems to me that ahimsa and kindness are also very important, and an "I am disgusted by your work" lobbed at a fellow devotee absolutely crosses the line there.

Just a thought.

Anyway, FH, thank you for sharing your project with us. I certainly enjoy seeing all your work (your Ramayana paintings, the murtis, etc.).

It's fine, Vinidra. ;) I've heard worse about the work I do. You get used discerning what is actual critique and what is not. Thank you for your support.

What do you write? I'm curious.

Nothing interesting, alas. Mostly it's just web content for people's websites or technical-type stuff. The most interesting thing I've ever been hired to write was a pitch for a reality TV show, lol. I do some fiction in my spare time, but I'm a long way from being a bestseller. ;)

Be your own guru
I think it is simple, FS, - someone joined Krishna and Srimati Radharani for holi - that is why the red spread. We were good at casting (3,000 BC), and still are - Jharkhand, Odisha, Bengal. Metal idols will require a lot of finishing.

Even when you are painting for yourself, keep tradition in view. See the difference. :)
