I don’t know about violence. Since violence is everywhere all the time.

But immigration is possibly the root of all evil.
Just think how much better the United States would be if Donald Trump’s ancestors were not allowed to come. Not to mention all those Republicans ancestors.
Darn, paradise was lost because of immigration.:p

It's always easier to make excuses than to face real problems isn't it?

While in a joke forum, immigration does indeed
seem to be a causative factor in Europistan.

I was having a conversation with a lady yesterday, regarding a person having ‘patience’. It started because I said patience has been a problem for me but I’m working on it and getting better.
She replied that she is ‘always’ patient. Her word. Her husband smiled and said “not always hun”. She came back with “I’m always patient unless someone does something stupid to irritate me”. The conversation died soon after, and she never had a clue how lost she is.
I have noticed that few people see reality. Most think all the ills in their lives are caused by someone else.

The simple correlation between gun ownership and violence often disappears entirely when you take this into account, as I've shown with data on both states in the U.S. and developed countries. This shows that guns are not a primary driver of differences in murder rates — whatever effect they have is drowned out in the data by things like demographic differences, culture, and so forth.

My experience with guns, is target practice. It's fun to have the skill to accurately fire a weapon.

I don't own one, but I fantasize about it. Along with a fantasy of being able to prevent some atrocity with the use of a firearm.

Owning a gun isn't going to change who I am. I'm not going to be inclined to kill someone any more if I owned a gun than not.

I like the idea of being able to purchase a gun if I choose to. I also like the idea of regulating require training and any steps necessary to prevent folks from having guns that shouldn't.

I'm more likely to be killed by the flu or diabetes than killed by a gun. More likely diabetes in my case since I already have it.

I'm not saying there is no case for banning guns, just not that it that clear cut.

If only those darn Europeans had not invaded/conquered/immigrated to North and South America, millions would not have died. In fact, given the death toll directly attributable to European nations fighting and slaughtering, the world would be a lot more peaceful today no doubt.

Water is far more deadly.

500,000+ deaths per year due to water born bacteria/illness. This is not counting accidental drowning and boat related accidents.

Drinking-water

Is it time to ban water and make it illegal so that nobody has to die from drinking water again?

There's a reason I didn't start this thread as a debate, so I'm going to keep it that way.

Thanks for your input, though.
