I don't identify with any particular label either.

Know what I do? I stay out of the DIRS.

Know why?

Because they're mostly populated by people who identify with a particular label and who don't really want to share their space with anyone who doesn't identify with that label.

I guess you could say the DIRS are for people who don't mind labels.

I suppose we could create a DIR for people who don't like labels, but I'm not sure what we would call it.
I already proposed a wishy-washy washy DIR :p:D

I disagree. If I choose to consider myself Christian, but not like to wear that label, that becomes a voice of a Christian in discussion with other Christians who share different perspectives on the matter. If I wish to discuss issues from a Christian perspective, I should be allowed to without needing to wear a silver cross are swear allegiance to orthodox views. Unless you and the staff are prepared to define what a true Christian is or not?

I disagree.

Not sure what you're disagreeing with, since I didn't offer any opinions in my previous post.

If I choose to consider myself Christian,

For the sake of the DIR, whether or not the other members consider you Christian is more important than whether or not you do yourself.

And I'm guessing that refusing to call yourself a Christian is probably going to be a deal breaker for most of them.

but not like to wear that label, that becomes a voice of a Christian in discussion with other Christians who share different perspectives on the matter.

There's a place for that. It's called the rest of the forums.

If I wish to discuss issues from a Christian perspective, I should be allowed to without needing to wear a silver cross are swear allegiance to orthodox views.

We don't require anyone to wear any specific ornamentations or swear any oaths in order to post in the dirs (although we are thinking about implementing a secret handshake).

unless you and the staff are prepared to define what a true Christian is or not?

Not our job. We allow people to identify themselves any way they like.

Whether it makes sense or not.
