Eugenius,
You seem to be a little confused about details.
Noah's Ark was around 450 ft long, 85 ft wide and 45 ft High. This amounts to over 51/2 million cubic ft of space to store things. There would be plenty of space. This is more space than in most large trains.
Another discrepancy; there were 7 clean animals, and birds, and 2 of the unclean animals, Gen 7:2-4.
The reason for the 7 of the clean was so that Noah could use one for a sacrifice, Gen 8:20.
Only each KIND was taken. You would only have to take 2Dogs, 2horses. 2 elephants etc. Not nearly as many as people might think.
Remember, God helped Noah to load the animals, and Noah had seven days to get them into the Ark, Gen 7:4,10.
No, thats a possible maximum of 1.72 million cubic feet of space (450 * 85 * 45). Into this you must also fit the hull, decks, internal bracing and passageways to allow the food, water and odure to be moved around the ark.
A cow needs about 30lbs of hay and 56 lbs (8 gallons) of water, about 100 tons of food and water for 7 cows for that year. Density of baled hay is about 10lbs per cubic foot and water is 62lbs per cubic foot so this storage space excluding containers is 9,972 cubic foot.
So now lets consider those 2 elephants, even if we go for the smaller asian elephant you would need around 130lb of food and 130 lbs (60 litres) of water per day. That is just over 87.6 tonnes of food and water and would occupy 11,000 cubic foot.
Remember there are no containers and no spaces included in those figures. Thats 1.2% of your total theoretical volume on just elephants and cows.
The only way to fit all the "kinds" and their food and fresh water is to invoke supernatural intervention for food preservation or to modify food requirements. If you reduce the number of species into kinds you do realise that you need evolution to happen much, much faster than science says it does.
Science says it took about 5 million years for the current elephant species and subspecies to emerge, Noah's flood would need much less than 5,000 years, in fact it needs less than 3,000 years as by roman times we know that the "big cat" kind had already produced lions, leopards and cheetah's etc because they have descriptions of these.
