In Fairness to Bush ...

The Voice of Reason

I was watching the Olympic coverage of women's beach volleyball, and one of the American players invited Bush to slap her on the backside.

I have to give him his due - he handled it about the only possible way he could, without getting into trouble.

He used the back of his hand, and gave her a little pat on the small of her back.

Anything else, and the world would have crucified him.

I honestly thought he handled it very well.

Seems he's being good 'copy' all the time at the moment. I missed this clip, but he's been a joy to watch over the Georgia conflict. I feel sorry for you having your leaders, but he makes quality TV, a little akin to Homer Simpson.

Some good points, Nehustan, but I'll have to disagree with you on one thing - Bush is many things, but a "leader" is not among them.

Well he's the cat with his finger on the button, so if that's not what constitues a leader, it's playing with fire...literally. Makes me think of a Bill Hicks' sketch...

Hicks was extremely profane, intentionally offensive, and often high on drugs.

All of that said - he was a dandy comedian, with a great ability to provide us with a scathing insight into the stupidity of so many issues.

I wish he were still with us.
