In Genesis the plants were created before the sun moon and stars

God is capable and YEC who do not agree with and old age for the universe and the earth etc say that is what happened.
Just as the flood can be interpreted as a large local flood so the creation can be interpreted as long slabs of time in which God did various things in the creation work.
But what does evening and morning mean? With literal days it would mean sunset and sunrise (and a similar in-between state of the light before day 4). I have no idea what it would mean in a non-literal sense....

BTW day 7th day it seems has not ended yet because it does not have "evening and morning".
Exodus 20:11 says "he rested on the seventh day" not that "he is still resting on the seventh day". Also the Bible mentions miracles happening after Genesis 1 which also suggests God is no longer resting.

Jesus tells us that God has been working since creation.
John 5:16Now because Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath, the Jews began to persecute Him. 17But Jesus answered them, “To this very day My Father is at His work, and I too am working.”

When Genesis tells us God rested, all it means is that He ceased from creating the universe.

A magazine published by our Goberning body in 1990 says:

"Some dinosaurs (and pterosaurs) may indeed have been created in the fifth era listed in Genesis, when the Bible says that God made “flying creatures” and “great sea monsters.” Perhaps other types of dinosaurs were created in the sixth epoch. The vast array of dinosaurs with their huge appetites would have been appropriate considering the abundant vegetation that evidently existed in their time.—Genesis 1:20-24." (g90 2/8)

The use of that word "evidently" is extremely ironic.

The order of appearance that scientists attribute to the same things mentioned in the Genesis story of the creation, is practically the same.
Not even close.
How can someone from 4 millennia ago invent the order of appearance of things as conceived today by scientific discoveries developed only with modern advanced technology?
They. of course could not, because they lacked the scientific knowledge we have today. All ancient cultures have Creation myths and vary. They are simply ancient myth are their attempts to explain the the nature of origins of our existence and humanity from the perspective of their culture and time.
