I think Trump's authority is completely blown and I think his followers (or those motivated enough for physical action) have shown themselves to be a weak-minded rabble of misfits, who are now widely reviled.
I hope you are right.

Ever seen any European footballers after thing don't go their way?

I was under the impression that European soccer fans who get riled up and fight each other see it as more of a "sport" than anything as serious as a political riot or upheaval.

We've also had riots after sporting events in the U.S. Fans celebrating a great victory of the local team can get quite unruly and out of hand. It's kind of strange, when you think about it. Their team wins, so they're supposedly happy - not rioting out of anger or injustice. They're elated about their team winning, so they turn over cars, raise a ruckus or two, burn things.

I'd hate to see what would happen if they were really mad about something. Oh wait...
