International poll: we all want the US to vote for Obama

idea

Question Everything
Would you seriously want us to vote for a president so that you guys there in america wouldn't have to take care of the less fortunate? that's sad..:(

Give a man a fish or teach them how to fish. Which is more productive?
Enable current failed systems? Or provide incentive through example for how to change…

Jayhawker... I thought you did not like terrorism?
Xenophobia and sociopathic fear mongering are repugnant whatever its source. To be brutally honest, I believe you share much in common with the Ahmidinijads of the world. You simply focus your vitriol differently and with far less means at your disposal.

We have been trying to set a positive example for Americans for the better part of 30 years, but they are still the world's most belligerent state, and the world's top polluter in the mix.

What do you think would be the best way to "teach Americans to fish", in your view?

We know what you want. You want the extra $845 billion Obama has promised. You want America to end global poverty.
National Ledger - Barack Obama's Global Tax Proposal Up for Senate Vote
Why should America have to solve anyone else's problems?
Solve your own problems with your own money people.

Huh?

The bold part is exactly why many people are voting for Obama. We don't want a repeat of Iraq, which was us trying to solve someone else's problem with our money. Do you actually think about what you write, or do you just cut and paste from a conservative site?

Remember the question - If Israel was attacked, would you wait for UN approval to run to their aid? McCain answered - we would NOT wait for the UN.
BO - we would wait.

Thank you for one more reason to vote for Obama.

God forbid us Americans try to do something as nobel as alleviating poverty and hunger around the world. That's something Christ might do. :cover:

Good thing I'm not a Christian. Otherwise I might have a soft spot for world suffering like those fools Bill Gates and Warren Buffet.

All those things sound nice, but I also want America to get its financial house in order. Canada's economy is directly tied to America's. If you sink, you'll drag us down with you.

The area around where I live is utterly dependent on General Motors. They already closed the truck plant in Oshawa earlier this year, and it was announced last week that another of their parts suppliers would be closing its local factory. Other companies' factories in Southern Ontario have been closing because their main market, the United States, is expected to dry up.

A booming, bustling US of A would do wonders for my community. I don't think that the gang who were calling the shots as the most recent financial crisis developed are the people to make that happen.

So... that's why I'd prefer Obama. It's not because I want the US weaker, but it's because I want it stronger.

You can't be serious. One, the current "failed systems" in America is straight from the play book of the sick, corrupt Republican party. Where have you been? Two, nobody is teaching people how to fish with redistribution of wealth from the poor to the rich. The Republicans can never, ever claim fiscal responsibility again after their vote for the Wall Street bail-out package. They can say they are thieves, which goes for the Democrats who supported the bill!

Nation building isn't teaching people how to fish, either. And that's exactly what the media has told us they've done in Iraq. "Operation Iraqi Freedom" isn't just a clever name. Whether you believe it's true or not, that is/was the PR coming from the White House during the lead up to the invasion and occupation of Iraq.

Barack Obama isn't really a sympathetic figure in my eyes. But if he truly is for getting our troops out of Iraq then I'm voting for him.

Anyway, I haven't been here that long. Judging from many of your posts I assume I'm not speaking with a rational person who keeps up with current events.

I mean, those poor Iraqis aren't going to have Bush to overthrow their next dictator.

there happens to be alot more to the world then those select nations.

OK, I'm more than willing to consider your polling data from nations that support McCain. These happen to be the only nations that participated in this particular poll. Looks like a pretty good sampling to me, but I'm open-minded.
