I can't stand it when people spell things wrong, abbreviate, or forget to use capitals at the beginning of the sentance and improper punctuation.

Yeah! Me too! I'm not a great speller, so I use spellcheck. It's better than trying to spell phonetically and murdering the words I have problems with.

Ah, America's dear president.... "They misunderestimate me." Misunderestimating a person does not make us a hopefuller country. Indeed, we must make the pie higher!

I have virtually no interest whatsoever in politics, so I seldom listen to Bush's speeches. Are these for real? Please tell me they aren't!

Ah, Feathers! :biglaugh: I think I shall claim "Make the pie higher!" as my new catchphrase...I'll throw it willy-nilly into conversations whenever there is an appropriate (or inappropriate) pause.

Hmm the Pie of Babel. I'll eat to that!

I know I use words that aren't real, such as "kinda" and "sorta", and "cause" instead of "because"; but for some reason "irregardless" really annoys me. And I know I tend to go overboard in the use of elipses (...) when I'm rambling away trying to sort out the thoughts in my brain. And I know you're not supposed to start sentences with "and" or "but", but I do it all the time.

Yup. I use kinda and sorta too, mainly because I like to write in a less formal tone, more like how I talk. Also, I write "through" as "thru" and "although" as "altho" because they're shorter. And while I don't use them, I don't see a problem with cos and cuz. It's not like we're writing like that in papers and formal letters.

Do you not understand that our president is so smart that he invents new words on a regular basis? and new ways to use old words?

I'm amazed I passed high school to be honest...my year 12 English teacher had a tenuous grasp on the language, and my year 11 biology teacher failed high school biology. I think that illustrates the point that those who can't really do teach.
(no offense to the good teachers out there. )
