Is beastiality immoral?

Animals cannot consent, therefore it is abuse.
You've never had a dog hump your leg?

I don't think they could consent anymore without lipstick. If the main point of contention is consent, then there are some nonhuman species that a human could have sex with.

I think it's pretty bad news all round, consent given or not.

What kind of a person wants to do this anyway?
They could be emotionally fragile. Or lonely. Or perhaps just have very different tastes from your average Joe.

I agree that it is bad news. It's disturbing to imagine. But does it trangress a moral boundary?

just the thought of bestiality makes me cringe. Even without morals added in, it's still distasteful to me.

I will use one of my favourite experessions again here:

bestiality is wrong because it is against the Order of Nature.

Human was designed to have sex with human , nothing else.

yes, that is true - humans made dildos so really not the same at all.

Nature did not intend for man and beast to create a union of lust.

Or maybe they are just paraphiliacs and are highly disturbed individuals.

Really? Then why do animals rape? Ducks are mega-rapists. All those cute little duckys you see are going to grow up to be rapists. If that aint lust, what is?

Are you able to entertain the idea of a mentally sound person having the desire to have sex with animals?

Can you rule it out?

Is there a family friendly verb that can replace 'have sex with'? It makes for stale prose.

I'm having deja vu

Me, too.

You're comparing using an animal for sustenance to using one for sexual gratification? That's like saying law enforcement using dogs in search and rescue is the same as using them in underground dog fighting rings.

There's an obvious distinction between performing a trained task and being tortured. Are you honestly trying to tell me that there's no difference between riding a horse and ******* a horse? That both have the same effect and impact upon the animal? Really?

No I can't. It's paraphilia, such a person is disordered. Possibly criminally disordered.

When you think about it, you could make an argument that it's not. Animals aren't people after all. We have no problem slaughtering them for food or performing science experiments on them. We use their skins for clothing. We keep them as pets. What do you guys think? Is there an argument that while it's certainly disgusting, it may not actually be immoral?

I thought it was legal?

I heard Old Macdonald had a cow and no one seems to have kicked up a fuss, rumour has it that he had a pig too, but apparently it squealed on him.

Can it give informed consent? Can it reason and contemplate consequence? After all, a human child can "consent" to sex as well.

Innit weird that we can talk about people and animals having sex - with each other - but I'm worried that if I use a colloquial expression for sex I'll offend someone?

In the Christian context, I can't see why it would be immoral. After all, the Bible says that the other animals were created by God as potential partners for Adam. God only created Eve after Adam found the animals to be not to his liking.
