Is Buddha God?

Starlight

Spiritual but not religious, new age and omnist
I've never heard of any Buddhists praying to Buddha, that's just ridiculous
I disagree with you. It is not ridiculous to pray to Buddha

Most buddists pray to Buddha (even if they do not believe he is God)

I've met more that chant than pray, honestly. Though I will say I haven't met a tremendous amount.

I was part of a Buddhist group that met weekly for a few years. We chanted several things before meditation... Metta Sutra, I think, was one. The 4 Remembrances were/are deeply meaningful for me; at one point I had them memorized just from repetition. There were some others as well, but memory escapes me on them. There were no formal prayers to the Buddha, but he was treated with reverence, and we bowed before a statue of him and offered incense.

Spam, wonderful spam (bloody vikings!)
No.
The beauty about Buddha, Jesus and the likes, is precisely that they were men, who despite human limitation, tapped into, understood and lived by God’s “perspective”.

I don't think Buddha cared about Gods perspective. He wasn't a Brahmin.
