Yes but they depend of the mathematical formulation of the theories they are derived from and stand or fall on the evidence that supports said theories. The Penrose–Hawking singularity theorems, for example, depend on general relativity being true, and hardly anybody thinks it actually applies in those circumstances. False. General relativity is a good theory (it matches the available evidence in its scope) but, since it doesn't fit with quantum field theory, most scientists in the field think it will have to be modified.

Evolution is actually more accepted (amongst people who understand it) than GR.
