Could there be coexistence between Christianity and Communism? There was the anti-religious, authoritarian style of Communism embodied in Marxism-Leninism. But some took Marx's ideas differently. "The Socialist Party is committed to the rights of free speech, free press, free assembly, and personal privacy, and the freedom of religious choice through the separation of church and state." "We are committed to the transformation of capitalism through the creation of a democratic socialist society based on compassion, empathy, and respect as well as the development of new social structures."
Socialist Party USA In some Social-Democratic countries religion is more recognized than in the U.S. In Denmark, Sweden, and Norway there is a national Church even though the government is officially secular. In Germany religion courses are taught in schools. I am certainly not trying to define what Communism or Socialism is, there are different interpretations. The People's Republic of China allows religious freedom and private property, even though they are "Communist" or "Marxist-Leninist."
