Dreadful rain and wind was forecast but it was dry and sunny! Which is great cos here's a photo of the reason we were there...

Is it smart to claim that your lake is superior to any other lake? Some may think it's Erie, but I think Gichigami is Superior.

Agree? Disagree?

I've seen Gichigumi from a few angles, shoreside, and viewpoints. Other than the freshwater smell, it is rather ocean like. A lot of water there.

Spent summers there when I was a wee lad, as my dad was a Ranger-Naturalist in the park. This wide-angle view does not do it justice...it is about six miles across, about 20 square miles total... I've stood where the picture was taken, as well as on the peak of Wizard Island, and on Mt. Scott, the high point on the far side, directly over Wizard Island...
