Is God depending on our trust?

A lot of people tell me that if I trust in God, he will take care of things, protect me, guide me etc. But they say it like somehow God can't or won't do it if I don't trust him.

If you have more confidence in God, I guess that releases more grace? Can't God give a person the same graces even if they are scared and have difficulty trusting?

So what is trusting in God? I assume it is not worrying, not being scared, having confidence that He will provide and protect...anything else? Trusting in God is required to get grace from God correct?

Humans have free will. Our actions or the lack thereof dictate what happens to us in life. There's nothing supernatural or divine about it.

I think perhaps it's like this. Satan convinced Adam and Eve that God was bad, and was holding out on them, by not letting them eat from the tree of knowledge. So now if you want anything good from God you have to believe God is good and will give it to you. But since we're corrupted by sin, Satan wispering doubt in our ears, we find it near impossible to do, to believe God will answer our prayers.

Sort of, but typically not in the way people hope (or expect). To 'trust in God' is to have faith enough to overcome troubles and to still love Him. Those who trust the most are the ones who lead the hardest lives, because they are constantly tested. No man is ever tested beyond his means; any and all failure that occurs in combating sin is due to us; never to God. Such is the nature of free will.

How is it that an all powerful, all knowing, supreme being known as God allows some underling He created to do all of that in the first place?

I don't think our attitude towards God probably changes the course of events outside our control, because It probably lets things happen the way they do for reasons that appear good and rational to Itself, but I do think humility and confidence in the essential goodness of the universe help change the way we react to external events and allow us more equanimity. So maybe it's: trust God, not because It will respond to your trust necessarily (though It may, I don't know), but because you will experience more peace of mind by accepting the way things are and that the events of your life might be serving purposes that are bigger than yourself.

I think the first thing we need to do is trust in our own inner goodness , grace and God automatically get attracted towards goodness.
