Is God Non-Physical?

As per eastern philosophy, God is non-physical in the sense that She is pure consciousness.

All matter, energy, space ,time and causation are said to be the manifestation of pure consciousness which is the substratum underlying it all.

In the yogic philosophy, the Shivalingam as a cosmic pillar of light is said to emerge from this pure consciousness, and is considered the first form to arise when creation occurs, and also the last form before the dissolution of creation.

The Prajapita Brahmakumaris consider the Shivalingam to represent God as an incorporeal point of light, and synonymous with Jehovah, Ahura Mazda, Waheguru and Allah in the other monotheistic religions. There is an interesting correlation between God and light which I have explained in this thread of mine.

And can be measured

Gravity can be determined 32 ft per second per second
Heat can be taken in Celsius or Fahrenheit
Air can be measured by flow and pressure
We can measure the wind with anemometer and its direction with a wind vane
But how do you measure love?

If love cannot be measured then not everything can be measured.

To a living spiritual female I would believe that a male is talking about the realisation of his own life/body and cellular human body. Given to him by his human Mother, for since when does a human be aware of the last form before the dissolution?

Non physical to a male for a female human is a human also...and so his Mother would seem to be a spiritual power in his owned male studies. For what is consciousness in reality, but a human discussing all evaluations of everything else through their own mind/psyche and human awareness?

Consciousness exists even if there is no discussion of evaluations of everything else as you put it.

Unfortunately most people are stuck in incessant thinking and emoting ,and this is why they are not patient enough to experience present moment awareness and just be, without any thought or emotion to corrupt the present experience.

If they are able to remain in this present moment awareness they will actually find this state quite peaceful and blissful.

If God is non-physical and does interact with the universe, how is this possible if God is not physical.

If something in us can tell our body to move or act in a certain way or to pick up something or alter it in a certain way then God can tell matter to move etc. We don't need to understand the mechanism involved in order to see the analogy.
If we cannot really decide these things about our body then we have no will of our own and all things are governed by the chain reaction of cause and effect................everything is determined and cannot be changed.

If love cannot be measured then not everything can be measured.

Gravity can be determined at 32ft/second/second at earths surface, on the moon it is much less, in space even more so. The strength of gravity is the inverse square if the distance from the object of attraction.

Heat, don't forget absolute, joule, SI, BTU, calorie.

Also with air, there are several units of measurement

Love can be observed using an mri, so yes it is tangible. It is measured in actions as researched by Sternburg, Chapman, Goff, Goddard, Pointer, and Jackson and hundreds more psychologists

Any physical effect of a God would be interpreted naturalistically, and we would have no way of knowing it to be of a God.
What do you mean by "naturalistically?"

We'd know that if it was God if that's where the evidence pointed.

I'm not sure why inferring God from evidence would be any different from, say, inferring a rare animal from evidence, which is something that does happen.

What? By our today's science we humans only know of like 5% of matters inside of our own universe, not to mention a multiverse model. By knowing 5% matters in a single universe such that we know God is not material? You must be kidding me.

That's a big and unproven jump from we don't know what constitutes 95% of our universe to god.

So you mean it is reasonable to assume God is not material by knowing 5% matters in our universe and none outside our universe?
Back up a few steps.

I'd say that if we start off by assuming that God exists at all, we're not exactly following the path of what's "reasonable."

Did you eat eggs ever before the age of 2? We can get to that piece of info from your mom as the best eyewitness.

Yes…Because God is infinity. Thus, omnipotence (Ps. 33:9, Isa. 44:24 and Rom. 1:20), omnipresence (Ps. 139:7-10, Isa. 57:15 and Heb. 4:13) and omniscient (Ps. 147:5, Isa. 40:28 and Rom. 11:33-34).

However, this surely would create some problems with communications between God and His created beings. Hence, God created a visible image of Himself to interact with the celestial beings. In the O.T., God used angels, prophets and other select humans to interact with men. Then, God begot the Christ (Son of God) to bring about hope and truth to all mankind.

Note: Even though I have used bible verses for support, this posting is my personal opinion and should only be understood in that context.

Can you tell a rock to move?

Human beings are very complex mechanisms. Does God require a certain level of consciousness to interact with?

Before you say yes, I'd consider anything non-physical unable to physically interact with the universe.

If God is non-physical and does interact with the universe, how is this possible if God is not physical.

OTOH, if God is physical, shouldn't we be able to detect/measure God?

IMHO, God got "physical" in the person of Jesus Christ. If you have to warn ants about a holocaust, how could you do better than to become an ant and communicate with them (us)!
