Is 'God' pure love?

When love comes into play there is an object in mind but it gives itself freely without expectation of any energy in return. Pure love would not have bias of any object(like you said "without attachment"), so there are many objects, and would give its energy freely till it depleted itself.

This is a good point. I have thought much more on this since the OP and feel that love doesn't deplete if focus on the source i.g. God/The Divine. From a non-dual Dharmic or Pantheist view this love comes form "us" anyway.

We could take a more 'scientific' explanation that because energy just dissipates, if energy is focused back at its source rather than at any object then it will just be returned. It would be recycled: God loves you - you love God - God loves you ad infinitum :)

Dharma and Love for God
Is there any reason to not conclude that "God" or the divine is pure love that we feel?

Is there anything in the scriptures to confirm that It (the divine) is pure love?

If so is that love unconditional, without limitations or regulations?

Do you have any thoughts or experiences to share to help draw a conclusion?

There are plenty of personal experiences told by Yogis that have experienced his deep bliss and love. One's that know God know him to be deeply loving and blissful. The fact that he takes care of our every need and has infinite patience shows his love. I personally have my own meditational experiences and everyday life experiences that accounts for his pure love. He has never not answered any of my prayers for one and has protected me in many many ways. Not to mention the most important part. The deep bliss and love I have felt when meditating. When meditating on his presence and in the right way your being can be saturated in his divine bliss and love. I can attest to this.

Scriptures are subject to belief without evidence. Personal experiences within via meditation or practicing his presence creates your evidence and enhances your faith from believing to knowing!

My Guru always said. If you want to know God and who he is. Read a little but meditate all the time.
