The Christian (well Protestant) opposition to Halloween is due to the post-reformation obsession with purging any hints of "Popery" from the "true faith".
For them, it's "evil" because it's Catholic, not because it's Satanic.

Not particularly. In its current form its just a silly holiday for us to watch horror movies and eat candy. It's also my mom's favorite holiday so I kind of have a soft spot for it.
