"Trump advises against getting U.S. troops involved in conflicts indiscriminately, and suggested that the American government should let others handle the problems in Syria and the threats posed by ISIL. More specifically, Trump pointed to Russia, stating, “You know, Russia wants to get ISIL, right? We want to get ISIL. Russia is in Syria — maybe we should let them do it?”"

"Even though he continues to remain tight-lipped about his plans for foreign policy matters, Donald Trump has stated that he is against engaging the U.S. troops in more armed conflicts. Asserting his disapproval of the Iraq war, Trump has expressed strong sympathy and support for U.S. veterans and has claimed that he will work to build up the American armed forces more than ever before, but will desist from sending troops into battles. Hinting at using military might for deterrence, Trump is quoted to have said, “We’re going to make our military so strong. Nobody’s going to mess with us. They’re not going to mess with us. We’re not going to use our military.”"

This is interesting.
I've long disliked Hillary's hawkish ways.
If The Donald is a dove (who still favors a strong defense), this would cause his stock to rise.

Parenthetical aside....
If Hillary is a "chicken hawk", then I'm a proud "chicken", having never served either..

As long Yemeni children see "US" stamped on every bombed dropped by the Saudi regime, everyone in Yemen is going to hate us regardless if we are there or not.

What I'm hoping is that our attacking fewer countries will improve things.
We need regime change.

I don't disagree. But I'm not sure spending taxpayer money to build up a massive unnecessary reserve of military equipment, to just eventually sell it off to dictators who will use it against the same people, is going to be particularly fruitful either. Especially considering we already have more than many countries combined.

Well, I too oppose weapon sales to bad guys, even if we lose the business to Russiastanians or Chinastanians.

The problem starts when you believe anything Trump says, everyone knows he is a pathological liar.

Let's put it this way would you give money to Trump to invest for you, or would you not trust him with a ten foot pole.

The Donald has marks all over from being touched with an 11 foot pole.
But my distrust for him as my financial fiduciary isn't about his honesty.
You didn't really answer my question.

There could not have been any military response, which was testified as such seven different times on seven different investigations that didn't turn up seven different implications that she missed the boat on the possible use of a military response.

I look at it this way. Trump is a businessman and Hillary is a politician. If you had to trust one of them, who would it be?

Hmmm.....businessmen are accustomed to enticing me to trade with them.
Politicians are accustomed to forcing me to do things for them.
Trump wins because of greater potential to be a civil libertarian instead of a war monger.
And he's better looking.

I wonder if I can get a combover wig for Halloween?

Well, both are now politicians, and on the Sobriety Index there's a big difference and it's not if favor of T Rump.

Neither? I can't imagine a situation in which I'd have to trust one of two given people against my will or judgment or reasoning.

I have yet to see any evidence that it really matters; the military does what feels like until the public makes it stop, under whatever president happens to be there. This country was built on blood, and we will die in a mess of our own when we go. No empire ever has a pacifist leader for long.

As for the other question, CEOs are politicians. While there are many good businessmen in the world, they don't cluster near the top. I would not trust either of these people to babysit my dog for the weekend, much less my country.

Kinda yeah. Hillary has been more historically for military action than Trump. Granted Trump has never been for or against it in any kind of measurable way since he has never held office in congress.....

But his attitudes towards war are significantly more dove-ish than Hillary.
