Hanging was good enough for Saddam.
That being said it is funny how the U.S. is making a huge deal out of some alleged Russian facebook ads and anti and pro Hillary and Trump memes somehow undermining "democracy" when they themselves helped put Saddam in power. When that particular CIA enabled Frankenstein became unmanageable then they created a war on false pretenses and ultimately hung him. There are similarities between this and the CIA supported coup in Vietnam against Diem. Of course there might be claims of "whataboutism" but in these cases it seems nothing more than complaining that some one pointed out the boils on the kings a**.
Could you explain more how they put Saddam in power?

Capital punishment has short-term benefits imo, but not long-term.

The reasons which lead to the human being committing a crime are not addressed, or researched to root cause analysis which can bring about a preventable solution to such crimes.

In terms of crimes like rape , perhaps an excess of hormone production may be the case, which can be reduced by proper treatments.

Angulimala is an example of a serial killer in ancient India who was reformed by the Buddha to become a harmless monk later on. It shows that with proper treatment methods by experts, one can bring about reformation in criminal behavior for the better.

I saw the sadaam hanging, it looked like karma was Dumping her **** on him big time.
Capital punishment should be offered to any murderer paedophile or rapist serving a long or indefinite sentence, one drink like they give to assisted suicides in Switzerland job done and no reoffending.

Saddam Hussein was originally an American stooge who loved Frank Sinatra, cigars and western business suits. The Americans used him to check Iran and showered him with weapons .

After 9/11, the Americans needed someone to unleash their rage upon. The attackers were mainly saudi arabian, but the Americans could not attack Saudi Arabia because of their corporate business interests there.

So they decided to take on Saddam Hussein instead, vilifying their former asset with a well-funded propaganda campaign and brought about the war in the name of freedom and democracy.

The removal of Saddam proved to be a major blunder later on, as it destabilised the whole region. Saddam had controlled the sunni and shia extremists and prevented them from coming to power. With the absence of Saddam, these elements came to power in the form of ISIS and extremist islamist ideologies which needed new wars to take care of.
