Is it possible to remain childlike?

I think I am still very much a child (I doubt anyone will argue this :jiggy: ). But my favorite moments are during bike rides with my daughter (she's five). We throw rocks in the river and tell bad jokes. My other favorite moment is picking on the other little kids in the neighborhood (believe me, it's all in fun and they pick right back). I mean, I am the biggest kid on the block.

To remain childlike, yes in the aspect of being "young at heart" and enjoying life. of corse we will always be gainning responsiblities but they do not have to bring you down. I watch kids all of the time and we all play around, having pretend tea parties playing tickle monster and all of that stuff and i still love it even though now i am the one tickling them.

on the innocent part, it depends as what you mean. if in a sexual way then that is your own personal choice. but i believe for you to stay young your self you muct have kids or contact with kids so that you can remember to stay young!!:woohoo:

Actually, I think you have a point there - about children keeping you 'younger' - I had a girlfriend once who was 17, had a sister of 24, one brother 10 and twin brothers aged 4 !
The Mum was VERY young in mind and as far as 'fun' was concerned.

Well, my sons had better get on with it and produce some Grandsons for me, before it is too late!:)

My Mom used to cut chicken, chop eggs and spread mayo on the same cutting board . . . With the same knife and no bleach . . . But we didn’t seem to get food poisoning.

Almost all of us would have rather gone swimming in the lake instead of a pristine pool.

We all took gym, not PE . . . And flunking gym was not an option! I guess PE must be much harder than gym.

I just can’t recall how bored we were without computers, PlayStation, Nintendo, 270 digital cable stations.

We played king of the hill on piles of gravel left on vacant construction sites and when we got hurt, Mom pulled out the 48cent bottle of mercurochrome and then we got a spanking.

We didn’t act up at the neighbors house either because if we did, we got spanked there too. I recall a neighbor kid doing his tricks on the front stoop just before he fell off. Little did his Mom know that she could have owned our house. Instead she picked him up and spanked him for being such a goof.

Mom invited the door-to-door salesman inside for coffee, and nobody locked their doors at night.

Children choked down the dust from the gravel driveway while playing with Tonka trucks (remember why Tonka trucks were made tough? It wasn’t so that they could take a rough Berber carpet in the family room!).

I don't know if I was ever innocent , but I sure do try to remain child-like . :)

ES , why would you use bleach on a chicken sandwich ? ;) When I swim , I swim with the fishies . { although I do try to stay out of the duck poo } And I never lock my door at night , if I'm home . But for some reason , the door-to-door salesman wouldn't come in for coffee .... Actually , I haven't seen one for years ?

I suddenly remembered the thread yesteday entitled "Fascinating $#*(!" (by saw11); I think being 'childlike' is seeing the wonder in all of G-d's creation - every part of nature is so beautiful - and to retain the ability of seeing nature with the eyes of a child - now that is 'childlike' and, than G-d for his wonderful creation, I am able to be forever childlike in that respect.:)
