in my faith, lack of love is an aspect of lack of rememberance of God. if one unconsciously is not mindful of God, that is a a pity, but hopefully one corrected through rememberance and the grace of God. in my faith, if one actively shuts out rememberance of God in favor of one's own view or leisure, that is a sin.

I think that is a very good (and intuitive) definition of the Greek word Hamartia, usually translated as sin in the New Testament.

If I was to love, and I mean really lots of love, for another man's wife, would that be considered good, to you?

Since love is God, then wouldn't I be closer to god than most, regardless whom I love?

Evil is the opposite of good.

There is "good" AND "evil" to be found in everything - in love and in non-love... in God and in non-God.

I can agree that God is love... (to ponder: Where is god then, if there is a possibility of non-love...)

"good" and "evil" are simply value judgements, nothing more. They are statements of what you believe to be, relative to who you choose to be.

IMO(sorry I am late to the discussion), I believe that lack of love is not seperation from God, or even perecived seperation from God, but that lack of love is ignorance. That isn't evil, that just is what it is.
